The Cautions Over Certain Natural Home Remedies
There has always been much debate about whether or not natural home remedies do indeed work for lice removal. The problems we have encountered over the years have included everything from misuse of pesticides found in home remedies and “super lice” to effectiveness.
What we do know though is that lice have been around far longer than the medicated shampoos you may see on store shelves today. Either people in ancient times found ways to live comfortably with these parasites or they had their own way of eradicating them.
Most home remedies are not 99% effective but consumers purchase them out of price and convenience. There are quite a few that people use. These include:
This is quite a popular form of treatment. Consumers use white vinegar to simply loosen up hair strands which makes the removal of nits or lice easier. An important thing to keep in mind is that this will not kill lice. It simply makes the process of picking them out an easier procedure.
Some people use mayonnaise or olive oil, then proceed on covering their head with a shower cap and blow drying it. In some cases, the heat has been enough to kill the lice. In most cases though it’s important that you take the shower cap off and use a nit comb to pull out the lice.
The only other way that’s been known to have a decent success rate is shaving off all of you’re hair. This is not for everyone but if you’re willing to go bald for a few weeks, it may be an option for you.
